Description
Dedicated to Ulysse Delécluse, Variations on a tune of the Pays d'Oc by Louis Cahuzac is a piece for Clarinet and Piano that refers to an area of the south of France. This set contains four variations on Se Canto, a song from thevalley of the Garonne, and was composed for upper-intermediate / advanced players. Rhythms, chromaticisms, trills and other technical aspects make this piece very challenging. Its four variations are: 1. Allegretto vivo eleggerio, 2. Alla polacca, 3. Andante and 4. Moderato. Highly melodic, this piece would work exceptionally well for a recital. Louis Cahuzac was one of the very few clarinettists of the beginning of the 20th century who managedto make a career as a soloist.
