Description
In 2017, for the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, Péter Tornyai (*1987) composed Psalm Canons, in which he sets psalm texts in the 16th-century Hungarian translations by Albert Szenczi Molnár and the Luther's Aus tiefer Not to music, creating the ideal of a new kind of "congregational song". Bach and Kurtág are the most important inspirations of the series, indicated in the titles of the individual movements: the former one is present through the canonical arrangement, and the latter through the free rhythmical notation.
